NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A man was shot and killed inside a Newport News convenience store Saturday night, according to the city's police department.

Police say around 9:20 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting at the 600 block of J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. Police confirmed to News 3 that it happened at the Family Fare convenience store.

Upon arrival, officers said they found Dreshaun Pruden, 32, of Newport News, inside the business suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Pruden was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police.
